Adam Scherr is a business entrepreneur, professional wrestler, actor and former strongman. Scherr returned to the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) on September 5, 2022 under the ring name “Braun Strowman”.
During his first stint (2013-2021) with WWE, Scherr won his first world title at WrestleMania 36 (2020) as the WWE Universal Champion. He was a WWE Intercontinental Champion and a two-time WWE Raw Tag Team Champion. He is also the winner of the 2018 Men's Money in the Bank contract, the winner of the titular match at the Greatest Royal Rumble event, where he won the WWE Greatest Royal Rumble Trophy and Championship and the winner of 2019 edition of Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
Scherr headlined many pay-per-view events. He holds the record for most eliminations in a single Elimination Chamber match with five, tied for first with Brock Lesnar for the most eliminations in a single Royal Rumble match with 13, most eliminations in a single Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal with 14, and is tied for the most eliminations in a single Survivor Series elimination match with four.
Prior to becoming a WWE Superstar, Scherr earned his Strongman Corporation (ASC) Professional Card by winning the NAS Amateur National Championships in 2011. He won the 2012 Arnold Amateur Strongman Championships, which earned him an invite to the 2013 Arnold Strongman Classic. He competed in the SCL North American Championships in 2012, finishing in fifth place overall as well as competing in the Giants Live Poland event, finishing in seventh place overall.
Scherr’s business endeavors include serving as co-founder of Crusher Nuts (in partnership with Fokken Nuts); co-founder of nutrition/wellness line (in partnership with ST Biosciences; partnership with Anarchy Bats (honoring his father who was legendary softball player); mental health advocate and co-founder of Diskuss (in partnership with ROKIT); and first pro wrestler to enter metaverse with FameDays partnership.
In addition, Scherr has served as a brand ambassador for companies including Polaris, Indian Motorcycle, Traeger Grills, Kingsford, Certified Piedmontese, Redcon1, MegaFit Meals, Sanvello Health, The Topps Company and Sport Kings.
Going back to his strongman days, Scherr served as an analyst on NBC’s Mr. Olympia Arm Wrestling Challenge in 2021. He also appeared in the Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly film “Holmes & Watson” in 2018.
Away from the boardroom and squared circle, Scherr often gives back to the Wisconsin business community. He has held two wrestling events in Waukesha, WI to raise funds for the families of the 2021 Christmas parade tragedy, gives back to the Wisconsin Boys & Girls Club and has participated in several Make-A-Wish events.
Scherr grew up in Sherrils Ford, North Carolina and is the son of Rick “Crusher Scherr, widely regarded as one of the greatest slow-pitch softball players of all-time.
